Chunky Carrots
I was inspired by my dogs carrot themed snuffle mat to design and crochet these chunky carrots (Carrot Snuffle Mat). My dog loves to snuffle and hunt for his treats and this carrot snuffle mat is one of his favourite enrichment toys. I hide his treats in underneath the carrots and he has to work to pull out each carrot to get his treat.
You can find inspiration everywhere when you look and as such I wanted to make these chunky carrots to bring joy. This is an easy and quick project and you can personalise your carrots by given them different faces. I am planning on making a series of crocheted fruit and vegetables as I think they will be fun gifts as keychains or playtime with children. You could even experiment with different yarn sizes to make bigger or smaller versions.
What you need to crochet Chunky Carrots:
- Yarn – I am using sporting weight yarn
- Orange Yarn
- Green Yarn
- A little Black Yarn
- Crochet Hook – I am using my 2.5mm Clover Amour Hook *
- Toy Stuffing
- Yarn Needle
- Stitch Markers
- Pins
- Pair of scissors
- Safety Eyes
Happy Crocheting and remember to tag @njcraftycreations when you finish this project.
