How to Make a Lemon
I am forever an optimist and love the phrase “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. It helps refocus my negative thoughts into things I am grateful for and turn things around. The phrase its self was first used in 1915 by the American writer Elbert Hubbard. He used these words to encapsulate a philosophy that you can transform adversity into opportunity. It’s a great way of thinking as often we focus on failure when it happens, where as we should be focusing on the learnings we have gained through the experience and apply them.
I decided to design this crocheted lemons as a reminder to myself to “make lemonade”… and also because I love the colour yellow. There is not happier colour in my opinion!
To make your lemons you will need:
- DK Size Yarn
- Yellow Yarn
- A little bit of Brown Yarn for the stem
- A little bit of Green Yarn for the leaves
- A little bit of Pink Yarn for the rosy cheeks (optional)
- A little bit of Black Yarn for the mouth
- Crochet Hook – I am using my 2.5mm Clover Amour Hook *
- Toy Stuffing
- Yarn Needle
- Stitch Markers
- Pins
- Pair of scissors
- Safety Eyes
I hope you enjoy making these happy lemons! Click here for more crochet patterns.
